KCKCC Jazz Camp
The Kansas City Jazz Camp is a week long summer day camp held on the campus of Kansas City Kansas Community College. The program serves approximately 50 music students each year. The ages of camp participants range from 13 to adult. The ability levels range from beginner to advanced. The camp focuses on jazz improvisation skills in a small group or “combo” setting. Scholarships are awarded to camp attendees based on financial need and musical commitment.

Washburn University Coleman Hawkins Jazz Camp
Join some of the finest jazz musicians and educators in the country for jazz camp June 9-14, 2019. The jazz camp will focus on improvisation, small group performance, jazz theory and many other related skills associated with the Jazz idiom. This camp is open to middle school and high school students (grades 7 – 12).
Campers have the option to stay on or off the Washburn University campus and will be provided with housing, all meals, and a summer jazz camp t-shirt.

KU Midwestern Music Camp

Spend an inspiring week with students from across the country studying with our outstanding faculty and world renowned guest musicians. The Midwestern Music Camp is a tradition stretching back to 1936. Since 1936, Midwestern Music Camp has brought musicians in grade 6-12 to the University of Kansas to study and play with our outstanding faculty and world renowned guest musicians. Students from across the United States come together each summer to learn and perform with one another on one of the nation's most beautiful college campuses. To date more than 65,000 young musicians have been a part of this tradition. Many of them are now performing in major symphony orchestras and service bands, while others teach at great schools and universities around the world. Each division of the camp offers a comprehensive musical experience, carefully planned and supervised by KU faculty to ensure that students at all levels of experience receive the quality instruction and attention that they need to improve their skills and enjoy making music. KSU Summer Music Camp
The 2019 Kansas State University Summer Music Camp will be held on June 9th-13th and is open to all band students grades 5 through 12. A typical daily schedule during camp includes a full group rehearsal in the morning, followed by a sectional (small group) rehearsal with instruction by a specialist. Lunch is followed by supervised recreation time at either the K-State Union or the brand new Manhattan City Water Park, another full group rehearsal, then small group instruction. The campers perform with the Manhattan Municipal Band on Tuesday evening and camp culminates with a final performance by the camp ensembles Thursday afternoon.
The guest conductors for the 2019 KSU Music camp will be Dr. Jay Gilbert, Director of Bands at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, Dr. David Betancourt, Director of Bands at Cerritos College in California, and Dr. Larry Blocher of Troy University (Alabama). The five-day camp exposes students to a variety of ensemble and rehearsal settings, including concert band, small ensembles, and jazz ensembles. The staff of the Kansas State Music Camp is comprised of the finest musicians and teachers from the area who are chosen for their interest and ability to inspire and teach talented young musicians. College music students complete our staff. A minimum of two staff members reside on each floor of the residence halls with the resident campers, and all staff members supervise student rehearsals throughout each day and evening.
Resident campers will stay in a university residence hall. Cafeteria-style meals are served in the university dining center. Students who choose not to stay in university housing have the option of purchasing a commuter meal card which includes four lunches and four dinners. They may also choose to pay cash for each individual meal.
